Based for all those around the Duddon Estuary this new singing group is for everyone - the beginner, the shy, the slightly scared, the busy, the adept and the confident! Everyone who just wants a jolly good sing! We offer a very relaxing fun environment within which to share your voice and create beautiful harmonies. We welcome anyone who likes to sing, whether you think you can or not. Many people have been robbed of their voice by being told they can't sing, but if you have a working larynx and at least one working ear we believe you have what it takes to learn. At Sing Y' Socks Off no-one is asked to sing alone and we currently have no plans to perform, we will purely sing for our own pleasure. Through song we will nurture our sense for listening and basking in group harmony. Our emphasis is on simplicity, enjoyment and building confidence to sing out. We sing catchy, easy to learn and satisfying material from African rounds to Welsh lullabies, sea shanties to spirituals. We also 'doo bee doo' at times!
Sing Y' Socks Off is an open access Natural Voice group. We are Natural Voice affiliated practitioners. We believe that singing is everyone's birthright and we are committed to teaching styles that are accepting and inclusive of all, regardless of musical experience and ability. We have been singing & working together as choral facilitators for almost 3 years though Ali has been running choral groups in Cumbria for the last 11! If Sing Y' Sox Off appeals to you just turn up for any session and join in for £6 / £5 concession Singing is your birthright! Singing is energizing. Singing is good for you! |
